Ty Wood primarily represents parties in real estate, oil and gas and renewable energy related transactions. He also represents select clients in business entity formation, estate planning and other legal concerns. Ty’s depth of knowledge, unique perspectives and out of the box thinking create value for his clients. Having grown up ranching in West Texas and the Texas Panhandle, he understands the concerns of land owners and small businesses.

Ty’s experience ranges from the negotiation of oil and gas leases throughout the Permian Basin, Granite Wash, Eagle Ford Shale, and Barnett Shale plays to achieving multi-million dollar settlements in contested probate proceedings. In addition to his private practice, Ty served two terms as Mitchell County Attorney, having first been elected to the position in 2008 at age 27. He has taught an annual short course entitled Oil and Gas Lease Negotiation to second and third year law students at Texas Tech School of Law each year since 2015.
